I have always had a love for art. I took art in junior high and high school. When I started college I wasn't sure what to major in. My father told me to just take some fun classes and see if they spark any interest. I took a ceramics class working on the pottery wheel and fell in love with it. I declared my major in art, and later received a degree in Art Education. I originally planned to work at the high school level, but ended up taking a position at an elementary. I have been teaching at Highland Park since 2008. I love working with young children, they are inspiring and always so excited to create art. I am so grateful to have this opportunity to work with young students!
My personal areas of interest in art include ceramics, printmaking, watercolor and bookmaking. Aside from art, I also enjoy quilting, sewing, reading, camping, rock climbing and baking.
